WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We may collect the following information:

1. personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Website, register on the Website, use eLog or eLog Mobile, place an order, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, account credentials, charity or donor affiliation, and credit card information. Users may, however, visit our Website anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Website or application related activities.

2. non-personal information about Users whenever they interact with our Website or applications. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer or device, application version, and technical information about Users’ means of connection, such as the operating system and the Internet Service Provider utilized and other similar information.

3. cookies and log files may be used on our Website to enhance User experience. A cookie is a small text file written to an individual’s hard drive that contains the user ID. A User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert them when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Website may not function properly. LOCATION INFORMATION AND ELOG MOBILE

Some charity Users of eLog Mobile are enrolled by FDC in geofencing. For those Users, the app uses device location to record when a charity volunteer is at a participating food donor location. That helps FDC confirm pickups, support Unreported Pickups reporting, and operate the donation program.

If FDC has enabled geofencing for your charity, the current eLog Mobile app on that device requires two system permissions:

• Precise Location

• Allow Always (background location)

If those permissions are not granted, you will not be able to sign in to the current eLog Mobile app on that device. The requirement is per device. You may still use eLog in a web browser, on a tablet or PC, on an older version of eLog Mobile, or on another device where the permissions have been granted.

We collect location only for charity accounts FDC has enrolled in geofencing, and only while the app is installed and those permissions are on. We use this information to determine whether a device associated with an enrolled charity is at or near a donor site around a scheduled or expected pickup. We do not use location data to sell advertising, and we do not sell location data.

Location data may be stored with the related charity account, donor location, date and time, and pickup or reporting records. We keep it as long as needed to operate the program, complete reporting, and meet legal or audit requirements, then delete or de-identify it.

You can turn location off in the device settings. If you do that on a device using the current eLog Mobile app for a geofence-enabled charity, that device will not be able to sign in to the current app until the permissions are restored. Your charity administrator or the FDC Support Center can also tell you whether your charity is enrolled in geofencing.

 

HOW WE USE COLLECTED INFORMATION

Any personal data that you give us will be treated with the utmost care and security. The personal data we collect is used to provide you with the service that you have requested or to respond to an inquiry that you have made.

FDC uses User personal information we have collected for the following purposes:

• to personalize User experience: we may use information individually or aggregated to understand how our Users use the services and resources provided on our Website and applications.

• to improve our Website and applications: we continually strive to improve our offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.

• to improve customer service: your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.

• to process transactions: we may use the information Users provide when placing an order to service that order, as well as provide relevant information about our other products. We do not automatically share this information with third parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service or when explicitly given permission by the User. The User can at any time change its preferences by contacting us via our Website.

• to administer Website and application features: such as content, promotions and surveys, and to send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.

• to operate eLog and eLog Mobile, including confirming charity visits to donor locations when geofencing is enabled.

• to send periodic emails: the email address Users provide will be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their activities as well as (a) respond to their inquiries and requests or (b) provide relevant information about our other products.

If a User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or the User may contact us via our Website.

 

USER RIGHT TO OPT-OUT

If you do not want to continue to receive e-mail communications from us please let us know by sending an e-mail to unsubscribe@foodtodonate.com. Should you request that we amend or suppress records containing your personal data we will endeavor to do so as promptly as practical; however you may receive communications for a transitional period while we process your records.

Location permissions for eLog Mobile are controlled in the device settings. Turning those permissions off may prevent use of the current eLog Mobile app on that device if your charity is enrolled in geofencing, as described above.

 

GOOGLE ANALYTICS PRIVACY NOTICE

FDC uses Google Analytics to collect information about the use of our website. Google Analytics collects information from users such as how many people visit our website, how often they visit, what pages they visit, and what other websites they have been to before visiting our website. We use the information obtained from Google Analytics to analyze traffic and to improve our website. Google Analytics does not collect your name or other personally identifiable information. The service collects your IP address assigned to you on the date you visit our website. We do not combine the information collected using Google Analytics with any personally identifiable information. Google also uses specific identifiers and markers to help collect information about the use of our website. Sensitive and private data exchange between the Website or applications and its Users happens over an SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures. Our Website is also in compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) vulnerability standards in order to create as secure of an environment as possible for Users.

 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Unless we are given explicit permission to do so, we do not sell, trade, or rent Users’ personal information. We may without consent share generic aggregated information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business, the Website, and our applications, or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys, hosting application data, or processing location and pickup records.

We may share location-related pickup records with the applicable donor organization and with the charity involved in that pickup, to the extent needed to run the donation program.
